Welcome to a printmaking workshop for children on Saturday, 24 October, from 13:00 to 15:00.
All materials will be provided, and admission is free.
In this workshop, participants will create monoprints inspired by Landlit, a series of works by Valgerður Briem currently on view at Gerðarsafn, using simple recycled materials and everyday household tools.
Participants will be introduced to the concepts of micro and macro, which they will keep in mind while observing Valgerður’s works and while creating their own pieces.
Children are welcome to bring recyclable materials from home, although plenty of materials will also be available on site.
Steinunn Önnudóttir is a visual artist and a teacher at the Reykjavík School of Visual Arts. She works across a variety of media and materials, often incorporating found objects into her artistic practice.
