Theme: Total abandon
I am a host. A host which suddenly became public property. Others have opinions on how I treat my body, what I put into myself. But that does not matter. That does not matter because I cannot eat anything. So I make a party. A party where I will eat and eat and eat. It shall be a cornucopia with total abandon.
Helga Katrínardóttir (b. 1989) is filmmaker and photographer that lives and works in Reykjavík. She graduated in artistic photography from the Ljósmyndaskólinn (Reykjavík academy of photography) in january 2022 and with B.A. in creative writing from the university of Iceland. Helga works in many mediums with her main emphasis on film, photography, video works and performance art. In her works herself is thrown into various situations for various durations. In the background there are family patterns and behaviours, along with research on how trauma is inherited through the generations. The ephemerality of the passing moment is brought to the viewers attention, constantly there yet never within reach.
