“When Roth visited Hörður and showed him his work, Hörður immediately saw that cutting-edge ideas in graphic design and art were being brought to Iceland.”
Welcome to a lecture by Studio Studio (Arnar Freyr Guðmundsson and Birna Geirfinnsdóttir) on the collaboration and influence of Dieter Roth and Hörður Ágústsson the 18th of March at 18:00. They are the curators of the exhibition Hörður, together with Brynja Sveinsdóttir.
The exhibition presents works by Hörður that reflect his approach to form and color theory from 1955–1978. Within his formal exploration one can sense the space where the architect and the poet intertwine, where the researcher and the creator meet in a holistic idea about the essence of all art.
Arnar graduated from the Iceland University of the Arts. He has since worked within different disciplines abroad and in Iceland as well as being a part-time lecturer at the Iceland University of the Arts and the Icelandic School of Photography.
Birna graduated from the Iceland University of the Arts and holds an MA in Book Design from the University of Reading. She is currently a Professor of Visual Communication at the Iceland University of the Arts.
