Join us for a multilingual workshop that brings cultures together through the tradition of making Mexican milagros!
Coordinated by the artists and cultural facilitators, Hugo Llanes and Ingunn Fjóla Ingþórsdóttir, this workshop offers participants a chance to create a collective sculpture where the wish for wellbeing, gratefulness and love prevails. Participants will be provided with all materials needed to make their own milagro, a small metal object that can carry a wish or give thanks for something positive. Milagros are made through the technique of embossing, embedded in Mexican and European traditions.
The goal of this workshop is to promote intercultural understanding and provide a space for people from different backgrounds to come together and create something meaningful. The workshop is open to individuals of all ages and skill levels, but children are expected to be accompanied by an adult. Guests are welcome to drop by at any time during the workshop. The spoken languages of the workshop are Spanish, Icelandic and English.
