He has taught at the Iceland University of the Arts and the University of Iceland. He has written art criticism and cultural commentary for <em>V\u00edsir<\/em>, <em>DV<\/em>, <em>Fr\u00e9ttabla\u00f0i\u00f0<\/em>, and <em>R\u00daV<\/em>. He has worked at the Reykjav\u00edk Art Museum, the National Gallery of Iceland, and at Sigurj\u00f3n \u00d3lafsson Museum, and was also the first director of the Museum of Design and Applied Art in Iceland. He has curated over 100 exhibitions in Iceland, Sweden, and Canada. He has written around 40 books on Icelandic and Faroese art; his most recent book was published recently and focuses on Gu\u00f0mundur El\u00edasson, a sculptor and contemporary of Ger\u00f0ur Helgad\u00f3ttir and H\u00f6r\u00f0ur \u00c1g\u00fastsson in Paris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>H\u00f6r\u00f0ur is a retrospective exhibition of the works of H\u00f6r\u00f0ur \u00c1g\u00fastsson that opens at Ger\u00f0arsafn on February 4, 2026. The exhibition will focus on H\u00f6r\u00f0ur\u2019s abstract geometric works and how they relate to his design and artistic thinking.
