On the 17th of June, Icelandic National Day, we invite you to Gerðarsafn for a polyphony of voices at 8 PM.
On this day, we will explore the tensions of identity, belonging, and interrelation beyond borders. We will ask questions and try to explore them together.
One of the questions of this day is: Who are “us”?
What if the “us” of a nation were understood not as a bounded identity, but as something more tentative, something that appears in moments of encounter, then ceases to be? Something that allows voices to remain plural, and interrelating not only with human concepts but with more-than-human kin. What if we understood a nation not as a unified speaker, but as a crowded, multi-sensorial polyphonic field?
Artists: Aephie Chen, Martyna Daniel, Diana Burkot, Magdalena Tworek & Janosch Bela Kratz.
