An afternoon concert with Edgars Rugajs’ Quartet in the foyer of Salurinn Concert Hall. The band consists of Edgars Rugajs on guitar, Nico Moreaux, bass, Matthías M. D. Hemstock, percussion and drums and Guðjón Steinn Skúlason, saxophone.
Free entrance and everybody welcome.
Edgars Rugajs is a jazz guitarist, improviser, composer, and educator from Latvia. For the last 4,5 years, he has been residing in Iceland where he is performing and teaching music.
Also, he is the artistic director of the concert series created in East Iceland named Far Out/Langt Út.
Edgars has traveled and performed around Europe in countries (Estonia, Germany, Denmark to name a few) and played with some notable musicians such as Tuomo Uusitalo, Tomasz Dabrowski, Erik Lunde Michaelsen, Andres Thor Gunnlaugsson, Arta Jekabsone, and others. Edgars mainly works in the field of jazz playing music based in jazz tradition as well as free improvisation.
