Í tilefni af Alþjóðlega safnadeginum bjóða Náttúrusafnið og Gerðarsafn gestum að taka þátt í skapandi útivinnustofu þar sem prófa má sólarþrykk. Ef veður leyfir fer viðburðurinn fram úti á milli safnanna.
Sólarþrykk er gömul ljósmyndunaraðferð sem notar sólina, en það er líka hægt að nota útfjólublátt ljós innandyra ef sólin sýnir sig ekki eins og á oft við á Íslandi. „Ljósmyndirnar“ eru gerðar með því að raða blómum, greinum, laufblöðum á pappír sem búið er að mála með sólarþrykkslausn. Síðan er ljósi varpað á pappírinn og úr verða hvítar skuggamyndir.
Allur efniviður verður á staðnum en það er velkomið að koma með blóm eða annað til að þrykkja með.

On the occasion of International Museum Day, the Nature Museum and Gerðarsafn invite guests to take part in a creative outdoor workshop where you can try sun printing. Weather permitting, the event will take place outdoors between the two museums.
Sun printing is an old photographic technique that uses sunlight to create images. However, ultraviolet light can also be used indoors if the sun does not appear, as is often the case in Iceland. The “photographs” are made by arranging flowers, branches, and leaves on paper that has been coated with a sun-printing solution. The paper is then exposed to light, resulting in beautiful white silhouettes.
All materials will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own flowers or other objects to print with.
This is a great opportunity to combine creativity with nature exploration!
