ÞYKJÓ opens an exhibition in Gerðarsafn with the team’s diverse design products; from costumes to furniture and experience design for children.
ÞYKJÓ is a design team that specializes in design for children and families. Sigríður Sunna Reynisdóttir founded ÞYKJÓ in 2019 and is an active artistic director. In addition to her, the designers of the group are Erla Ólafsdóttir architect, Sigurbjörg Stefánsdóttir fashion designer and Ninna Þórarinsdóttir children’s culture designer.
The works in the exhibition have one thing in common: they arose from a conversation and collaboration between designers with biologists, art historians, artisans and groups of preschool and elementary school children during TYKJÓ’s time as local artists in Kópavogur’s Culture Houses.
