Adda Ingólfs Heiðrúnardóttir

Adda Ingólfs Heiðrúnardóttir er tón- og söngvaskáld. Hún nam sónólógíska raftónlist við Konunglega tónlistarháskólann í Haag og heimspeki og kynjafræði á Íslandi, í Hollandi og Búdapest.
Í tónsmíðum sínum rannsakar hún tengsl og tengslarof við íslenska tónlistarsögu, einkum kvæðalagahefðina sem blómstraði í torfbæjarmenningunni. Segja má að hún komi sér fyrir innan í kvæðalögum og -ljóðum formæðra og forfeðra, beini sjónum að einkennandi smáatriðum, þenji þau út og umbreyti þannig frumefninu
Moldarmáttur
Heiti verksins er fengið úr kvæðinu Krókárgerði eftir Ólínu Jónasdóttur skáldkonu. Krókárgerði er eyðibýli í Skagafirði en Ólína þekkti síðustu ábúendur þess. Kvæðið er einskonar minningarorð um torfbæjarmenninguna og flókin tengsl skáldsins við hana. Um afturhaldssemina en einnig þrána eftir kveðskap og söng. Skáldkonan var á barnsaldri þegar hún kom eitt sinn heim með nýort ljóð og var lamin fyrir. Hún tók það ráð upp frá því að grafa ljóð sín í jörðu uppi í hlíðinni þar sem hún sat yfir ánum.
Verk Öddu byggir á túlkun hennar og umskrift á kvæði Ólínu (sjá innlegg sem fylgir efnisskránni). Verkið er ferðalag ofan í jörðina, tilraun til þess að snerta á moldarmættinum. Segja má að sögumaðurinn komi sér fyrir ofan í moldinni (í hefðinni), skeri út rými, fari í vetrarhýði, drekki hljóðlega í sig næringu og bori sér síðan leið upp á yfirborðið þegar fer að vora.
Tónefni verksins og rytmi er unnið upp úr upptöku af kvæðalagi sem Þórhallur Ástvaldsson kvað við Krókárgerði um 1960. Kvæðið er hringhend ferskeytla, sem þýðir að auk endaríms má finna innrím í hverri einustu línu (sjá fyrrnefnt innlegg). Hér fær einkum að njóta sín öldugangsleg hrynjandin sem myndast í kveðskap Þórhalls þegar hann hinkrar við þau atkvæði sem mynda innrím hringhendunnar.
Verkið samanstendur af sjö stuttum köflum sem bera heitin: Eyðiró, Hugarkvíði, Vetrarhýði, Rústin geymir, Kraftur ól, Vakti þrá, Fjörið glæðist.

Jun Hyeop Kim

Jun Hyeop Kim, born in Seoul, South Korea, is a composer whose foundation in
Russian music education and rich literary influences have shaped his unique
musical voice. His diverse interests encompass 20th-century harmony,
contemporary styles, and film music, leading him to conduct and compose for
various ensembles and soloists. Notably, he has performed Beethoven with the
Savaria Symphony Orchestra in Hungary and Mozart with the Iceland Symphony
Orchestra. In addition, Jun is actively involved in film music, specializing in
orchestration and composing original scores for numerous independent films.
Jun currently based in Reykjavik, Iceland, and is pursuing advanced (MA
degree) studies in composition at the Iceland Academy of the Arts under the
guidance of Atli Ingólfsson. He previously graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree
in Composition from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where he
studied under Elinor Armor. Additionally, Jun has a solid foundation in music
education, which complements his compositional work and enhances his
understanding of pedagogy.

Starri Holm

Starri Holm is a composer and guitarist. Through his studies both on the BA and MA level he has sought to create atmospheric soundscapes through orchestral arrangement. Taking heavy inspiration from his roots in industrial music, his compositions are typically dark, droning and dissonant to invoke a sense of discomfort in the listener.
Spiral:
The piece is a journey through a downward spiral of sorts. Through the use of repeated droning passages that get more and more distorted and less familiar to what was heard in the beginning the listener descends further and further down the spiral into progressively darker territories.

Yuichi Yoshimoto

Yuichi Yoshimoto is a composer and pianist based in Iceland. He studied piano and creative course at the Tokyo College of Music and later pursued an MA in Composition at Tokyo College of Music Graduate School as well as the Iceland University of the Arts.
In 2021, his fanfare piece „Shinonome’s Fanfare“ was performed at the College of Music Orchestra Festival. In 2022, his electroacoustic piece „Kapsel“ was performed at the Intercollege Sonic Arts Festival. In 2023, his piano trio piece „Volcano“ was performed at the Tokyo College of Music Graduate School Composition and Conducting Department’s Composition Research Student Concert.
In 2025, he won the Absolute First Prize in Piano (Sonata) and Composition (Chamber Music), as well as the Poetic Interpretation Special Prize in Piano at the UK International Music Competition..

This piece is a live-electronics piece. I wanted to explore how acoustic and electro elements can be combined. I did this by using a variety of instruments, such as strings, woodwinds, and percussion. I also used electronic effects to process and manipulate sound in real-time. This allowed me to create a dynamic and evolving sonic landscape. This mix lets the natural sounds of acoustic instruments blend perfectly with electronic changes, increasing their expressive range and developing new ways to perform music live.
